Vocallie is prepaid. You hold a balance; calls draw it down. There's no invoice at the end of the month and no way to run up a debt — if the balance can't cover a call, the call isn't placed.

The two things you pay for

They're separate, and confusing them is the main source of billing surprises:

1. Your plan — a monthly subscription that grants included minutes, limits and features. See Plans & limits.
2. Your wallet — prepaid credit that covers everything beyond the plan: overage minutes, phone number rent, and add-ons.

A quiet month costs you the subscription. A busy month costs the subscription plus whatever overage your wallet absorbed.

What the page shows

• Plan and usage — a progress bar of included minutes used this month, with your overage rate. When the bar fills, wallet charges begin.
• Wallet balance — in money, and as an approximate number of call minutes at your rate. That second figure is the useful one.
• Plan cards — every plan with its price, limits and features, so you can compare and switch.
• Transactions — your recent ledger entries.

Trial accounts see something different: two lifetime budget bars for browser and phone testing, instead of a monthly minutes pool.

Topping up

Add money, then pick a preset or enter an amount (minimum $5). A live preview shows roughly how many minutes — or how many phone numbers — that buys at your rate. Checkout opens in an overlay and the balance updates once payment confirms.

How calls are charged

• Charged when the call ends, per minute.
• Rounded up, minimum one minute. A 20-second call bills as a minute.
• AI calls use your included minutes first, then the wallet at your plan's overage rate.
• Manual (human) calls always bill the wallet. Included minutes cover AI calls only — which is why a manual call can be blocked at zero balance even when you still have included minutes.
• Test calls count against your trial allowance on Trial, and bill normally on paid plans.

Reading the ledger

Each row is one movement, with the type, a signed amount and a note. Green is money in, red is money out.

Call charges link to the call, so you can always answer "what was this £1.40 for?"

Included free number

Every paid plan covers the monthly rent of one number — your default. The first number you buy becomes the default automatically, and you can move the slot to a different number.

Extra numbers are charged monthly from the wallet. Bring-your-own numbers carry no rent from us at all.

Enterprise quotes

The Enterprise plan has no self-serve price. Request a quote opens a short form — expected call volume, agents needed, and what you need it to do. Someone gets back to you with a proposal.

Worth doing if you're consistently exceeding Professional's limits; the per-minute rate at volume is meaningfully lower.

Watching your spend

Some habits that prevent unpleasant months:

• Check the minutes bar weekly. It's the earliest signal that this month will cost more than the last.
• Keep a buffer covering a few days of expected calling, plus your number rent.
• Watch campaigns closely. Bulk outbound is the fastest way to consume minutes — run a small batch first and extrapolate.
• Use Analytics for all-time spend and volume trends.

Common questions

Does ringing count? No. Only connected talk time is billed.

What if a call fails to connect? No charge.

Do test calls cost money? On paid plans yes, at your normal rate. On Trial they come out of your lifetime test allowance.

Can I set a spend cap? There's no self-serve spend limit in the panel today. The wallet itself is the effective cap — you can only spend what you've put in, which is the point of the prepaid model.

Do unused included minutes roll over? No. They reset each calendar month.
